Mario comes through the front door to Nintendo 3DS with a platform game that combines 3D graphics with gameplay somewhere between Mario 64 and New Super Bros. Although the controls feel more like Mario 64, the levels are more classic, with a beginning and end, adapted to portable gaming. Powers such as the fire flower or transforming into raccoon and classic enemies like the evil mushrooms return, in a game that offers a changing perspective that takes advantage of the 3D effect of the console.
Also known as Super Mario Bros. 3DS.
A great platform, but not exceptional
It may not be the best Mario in recent years, but as Super Mario in a portable is best kind in this format. Despite this, it leaves a slight feeling that Nintendo could have do even better, a company that is know to release some stratospheric levels of quality in their top games, which we believe, in this first foray into Mario in 3D without glasses does not reach that quality rather than just an outstanding productions of the company Nippon. What is not removed, it is an excellent game, and for us, essential to a 3DS fan.
3D Super Mario Land
Fun, addictive, you’ll get with it and want to overcome one level after another without stopping, until you realize you’ve made it to half-game already. Pretty easy and affordable for all kinds of people, we had to wait a few months but already here the first major title for the console, that everyone will want to try. Already waiting for the plumber’s next foray into the portables, we look for more complex and elaborate gameplay than this one, but in the meantime enjoy this one as it is one of those titles that will surely help to heat up the console come Christmas time.
