The failure of PlayStation Vita in Japan has officially been confirmed

It’s debut week was not particularly good, and although it had outsell PSP in its debut many years ago, it failed to achieve the success of Nintendo 3DS, and the machine of the three dimensions was not far better from a positive release. With the weekly sales report available in our hands we can ensure you that PlayStation Vita has been a failure, and that at least for now sales are not good at anything Sony these days.

While it was thought that in its second week, after the launch frenzy, it would achieve a stable sales, instead PlayStation Vita has sold not only less than Nintendo 3DS, but also has sold fewer units than the PSP, its predecessor.

The data leaves PlayStation Vita in fifth place in the top, also behind PlayStation 3 and Wii. In the middle of Christmas season, when all consoles sold more units than usual, and seeing that even Xbox 360 has improved over the previous weeks, these numbers are disappointing.
