Microsoft could eliminate Microsoft points for actual prices

Would affect Xbox Live and other virtual online stores of the company.

Microsoft could eliminate at the end of this year the Microsoft Points, the currency used to purchase content for Windows Phone, Zune and Xbox Live Marketplace of Xbox 360, according to Inside Mobile App

In return, you would use a trading system based on the currency of each region, as well as their rivals in different platforms such as Apple or Sony.

Microsoft Points are not something universal in the systems of the company. On Xbox Live, games prices are listed in dollars or euros, but the downloadable content is based on points. Windows phone, applications are commonplace, but users can make purchases via points, which are also used to purchase accessories such as Xbox Live avatars.

Officially, Microsoft has responded to this rumor with “we do not comment on rumors or speculation.”
