Kinect: Star Wars Xbox 360 Review

Kinect: Star Wars is the story of the ever popular movie-screen androids R2D2 and C-3PO. They are exploring fresher pastures and new exciting battlegrounds in the galaxies. They have to make it to the Jedi Training facilities and get there with their wits and guidance. They will train new Jedi recruits and gear them up for war with the Dark Side.

You will be playing with your multiplayer team and be trained in fighting the Clones and other foes of the Jedi Order. While this seems like yet another Star Wars game, the Kinect: Star Wars Xbox 360 is well below the usual score we would give for a game like this.

And it is indeed a big disappointment. Sure, Kinect starts has enough potential. The banter between the two wise and wizened androids sounds genuinely funny and sprightly. However, it goes downhill from there onwards. The plot is predictable but that is only a minor niggle. The major problem is that the animation and gameplay are both patchy. This means that the flow of the story breaks off frequently and you are left with standard-looking graphics and visuals that do not fascinate at all. Really, this is as boring and drab as the childish action set-pieces in the movies as well.

But graphics is also not the main problem. We all know that George Lucas was no great artist. Much of the Star Wars movie series was tasteless. However, there should be at least some level of consistency and fluidity in the controls and gameplay. The controls are terribly messy; the fighting responses are mediocre and slow as well. The fighting attacks are not as incredible as they seem to be. It takes time for the warriors to fight off the bad guys with all your weapons and light sabers as well. So, it is quite pointless to play this game on the console.

In one word, the Kinect: Star Wars is as disappointing as the Phantom Menace movie!
