E3 2012: Bethesda and id Software Announce DOOM 3 BFG Edition, and first trailer

New edition of the classic FPS from id Software, which in addition to DOOM 3 and Resurrection of Evil expansion completely remastered, also includes several hours of new content and seven additional levels entitled ‘The mission was lost.’

Bethesda Softworks and the studio id Software have announced the development of DOOM 3 BFG Edition, a title that will launch this fall for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and including inside will be a remastered versions of the original Doom 3, its expansionResurrection of Evil, as well as a number of other extras like a single frame unpublished, entitled ”The mission lost”, consisting of a total of seven levels.

This remastered version includes enhanced graphics with 3D technology that fully supports, 5.1 surround sound,achievements and trophies, a rendering system and improved lighting and a new system guarded by checkpoints.

“We have optimized and expanded the game to be better than ever and its controls and images go as smoothly on all platforms. The screen support has been adapted to the top, TVs and 3D displays that allows players to immerse themselves more than ever in the game. We think fans of shooters will love it, “said John Carmack, technical director ofid Software.

Finally, it is worth noting that DOOM 3 BFG Edition will include the original DOOM and DOOM 2 games, so it will definitely be an interesting compilation of the promised DOOM 4 that will come later. Coinciding with the announcement they have released a first trailer of this game, which can be accessed via streaming.
