Kratos fighting a Kraken.

Sony has shown a new demo of God of War: Ascension, the first centered in the campaign and history of the much anticipated game for the PlayStation 3.

In it we see Kratos in a small harbor fighting multiple enemies both small and a medium-sized one. A giant Kraken octopus is close, and the video ends with Kratos facing directly at the monster.
