Nvidia says that today’s computers are 24 times more powerful than Xbox 360

They believe that the new Unreal Engine 4 will require “ten times” the current power of the consoles.

The chief engineer at Nvidia, Simon Green, stressed that today’s computers are 24 times more powerful than Xbox 360, thanks in part to the great speed with which the tech-world has evolved in compatible hardware and, of course, while they have been longer on the market than consoles from Microsoft and PlayStation 3.

In this sense, Green believes that they can squeezes more power on a PC than on consoles, but says the new generation of consoles should be extremely powerful if they want to match the graphics power of computers, and much more, if they want maintain the lead  for another ten years.

This engineer also explained that the new consoles should be at least “ten times” more powerful than current consoles to be able to use Unreal Engine 4, although this is a fact which has been talked about by Epic Games.
