Nintendo 3DS XL announced. The new 3DS version will arrive in late July

It will have bigger screens and longer battery life.

Nintendo has announced during a Nintendo Direct conference the new revision of its handheld 3DS: Nintendo 3DS XL.

As the name suggests, the new 3DS XL is characterized by having an XL size compared with the original model, resulting in superior game screens and also a longer battery life. All other features remain the same.

Specifically, 3DS XL has dimensions of 93x156x22mm, 46% higher than the original model, while its weight amounts to 336 grams. As a result, the upper screen of the portable is now 4.88 inches,  and the bottom will be 4.18 inches.

The battery performance of the new Nintendo 3DS XL gets about half an hour more with regards to the current 3DS, remaining at a range between 3.5 and 6.5 hours depending on use.

As in the standard 3DS, the handheld now includes an SD card memory that has been increased from 2GB to 4GB instead over the original.

3DS XL will go on sale without charger, which is the same as current Nintendo 3DS, and in this case, you must purchase one separately.

The console will be sold in various colors: Silver + Black, Red + Black + Black and Blue from July 28 in Japan and Europe, August 19 in America. The European price of the console has not been announced, if the Japanese model costs: 19,800 yen (approx. 196 euros), which suggests a final price of 199 euros.
