Best Dark Magician Deck

What makes this Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel Dark Magician deck so powerful is the ability to search up the exact cards you want. This deck features so many cards that allow you to draw or special summon the exact spell or monster that you want, meaning you don’t have to rely so heavily on RNG to get your cards out on the board.

The power in this deck is in summoning the Dark Magician himself and keep him on the board. Cards like Soul Servant allow you to pull and summon Dark Magician from the bottom of your deck, or return him to the game when he’s been sent to the graveyard. With powerful spells like Dark Magic Attack and Eternal Soul, your Dark Magician maintains a ton of staying power so the enemy can’t spell or trap card him off the board.

How To Play The Deck

You’ll want to establish control of the board early into the match by getting Dark Magician on the field. An easy way to do this is to send Dark Magician to your graveyard using Magicians’ Souls, and then special summoning him from the graveyard using Eternal Soul. Once Eternal Soul is on the board, your Dark Magician also becomes impervious to spell and trap effects, helping him stay on the field longer. However, if Eternal Soul is removed, all your monster cards are sent to the graveyard, so be careful.

When Dark Magic Circle is on the field, special summoning Dark Magician allows you to banish one card the opponent controls off the field. This gives you incredibly powerful removal potential and makes your ability to constantly resummon Dark Magician a frustratingly effective force.

Magician’s Rod is an important card in this deck for this very reason. The card can be used to constantly draw the exact spell card you need, which lets you use Dark Magic Attack and Dark Magic Circle when you really need it. It also allows you to return Dark Magician from your graveyard to your hand, affording you even more Dark Magician return power.

This Dark Magician deck plays as a control deck with a slow tempo, so while it can be frustratingly difficult for your opponent to get an opening on you, you lack any real finisher with Dark Magician alone. Amulet Dragon serves as a great finisher; It has the effect to banish any number of spell cards in either graveyard, gaining 100 attack points per spell. Essentially, Amulet Dragon serves as a weaker version of Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon, which is banned in Master Duel.

Keep control of the board until you can summon Amulet Dragon. Use your weaker effect monsters like Magician’s Rod to summon Dark Magician, and then throw out Red-Eyes Black Dragon or Dark Magician Girl to keep yourself from being overwhelmed. Make good use of your link monsters and summons, and you should be able to pace your opponent until you get your big fusion monsters on the board. Amulet Dragon allows you to special summon Dark Magician from the graveyard when defeated, so even when you lose your heavy hitter you’re still bringing Dark Magician back on the board for another chance at fusion.
