How to find a Malfunctioning Vending Machine in Fortnite

Fortnite challenges are a weekly endeavor that will have you exploring various parts of the map to complete tasks that will reward you with valuable XP towards leveling up your Battle Pass. Most of the time they are pretty self-explanatory, but there are times when some of the quests can be a bit confusing or difficult. Malfunctioning Vending Machines

To find a Malfunctioning Vending Machine in Fortnite, you will just need to locate as many Vending Machines as possible. There is a small random chance that one will be malfunctioning, which you can then purchase an item from to complete the challenge.

You will find Vending Machines all over the map, generally in named locations or at gas stations. There’s usually one or two per named location. If you want to know exactly where they are located you can check out the map below that was sourced from Fortnite.gg. You can click on it to enlarge it, but when you are close to a Vending Machine in the game, you will see a small icon on the screen that shows where it is located.

When you arrive at a Vending Machine, you will know right away if it is malfunctioning. It will appear bright red with an exclamation point on it. When you get close enough, it will be labeled as a Malfunctioning Vending Machine.

To purchase an item, you will need to spend 100 Gold Bars. You will then get a completely random item, which could be a gun, shield, bandage, fish, or whatever else. You could find a Legendary if you are lucky, or you might just get a Fishing Rod.
