The yearly vote for what new mob will be added to Minecraft is nearly upon us! This happens during the Minecraft Live event, where we get details on what updates are coming and what you can expect to be added to the game soon. There’s three mobs to choose from, and each one has its own unique look and abilities. Last year’s event gave players the option to choose from the Iceologer, Moobloom, and Glow Squid. The Glow Squid was ultimately crowned the victor, and was added to the game in the 1.17 update.
How to vote for Minecraft Mobs
The Minecraft mob vote for 2021 will be available via Twitter during the Minecraft Live event that will start on October 16th, 2021 at 9am PDT. At some point during the event, they will release a poll on the official Minecraft Twitter account that will allow you and other Twitter users to vote. You will need a Twitter account to cast a vote, so make sure to sign up if you want to influence the outcome!
TWO MOBS ARE LEFT, HERE’S THE FINAL VOTE TO SEE WHO IS THE WINNER:
The mobs that you will get to vote for have been announced, and they are the Allay, Copper Golem, and the Glare. We have details on each so that you can decide on which you would like in the game!
The Allay is basically a drone of sorts that you can give an item to and they will collect dropped items of the same type up to a full stack. It will drop the items if it gets into range of a Note Block. The Allay can’t destroy blocks and it can’t open containers, which does limit its usability.
The Copper Golem will be a craftable pet that is obviously created out of copper. It is attracted to copper buttons which would be added to the game if it wins the vote. It will oxidize over time like other copper blocks, and if you let it get completely oxidized, it will turn into a statue. If you want to keep your copper buddy around, you can remove the oxidation with an axe or it being struck by lightning!
The Glare mob will be found in extremely dark areas and once you have it as a pet, it will alert you to areas in the world that are dark enough to spawn mobs. These will likely spawn in lush caves, due to their bushy appearance in the game. This mob would be pretty useful if you were looking to make sure your base is secure from any mob spawns.
That’s everything there is to know about how you can vote for the new mobs for Minecraft! We’ve got a lot more coverage of the game in our Minecraft section of our website, so be sure to check it out.
